Chung Ying Hou｜侯忠穎 藝術 寫實繪畫 當代藝術
About
Chungying Hou (侯忠穎）is an artist who was born in 1983 in Taipei. He received his Ph.D. degree with a major in Art creation and Theory in Fine Art Department of National Taiwan Normal University. He is not only an artist associated with Beijing Parkviewgreen Gallery, but also an assistant professor teaching in Hsan- Chuang University. He studied the exchange MA program of Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London between 2013-2014. During that period, he was invited to perform his art in St. James’s Palace for Prince of Wales and got the prince’s praise. He also was rewarded the Pride of Taiwan in 2014 from British Office Taipei.
He is always fascinated with the altering world. He applies the symbol of Hand to represent the complicated world with a Chinese traditional concept that recognizing the whole universe from observation of part. In his works, the images of hand are extension of human that is able to perceive, measure, symbolize, and represent the relation between human and world. Further he Intend to redefine human self through the different forms of creation about hand. He also makes full-scale wood carving as well as mixed-media pieces, and performance. His work has been exhibited at alternative spaces, galleries, universities and museums in Taiwan, China, The UK, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Peru, etc. His works are collected by PSTA in London, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, National Dr. Sn Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Art Bank Taiwan, etc.
