摹仿論與當代認識圖式之轉換

─論「摹仿說」侯忠穎個展

Mimesis and the Transformation of Contemporary Cognitive Schema

─On "Mimesis" Hou Chung Ying Solo Exhibition

    身為一位敏銳、活躍且具繪畫才能的藝術家,侯忠穎早就穿越寫實的界線。「寫實」作為美術史上一種表現形式與美學辯證,早已成他提筆創作之際,不斷自我詰問的一個問題。或者說,寫實與否早已經不是他最關心的藝術問題,而且恐怕也早就不是現當代藝術的核心問題。因此在「摹仿說」一展中,藝術家侯忠穎以手為一個出發點與隱喻,在人與世界之可能關係的主題上,欲勾勒一個更龐大的,延伸至跨域思索與藝術認知之轉換的可能性。

    具體來說,「摹仿說」透過以下三個主題來進行︰(1)框畫系列作品︰從工藝與藝術之當代關係,探索社會、藝術與觀看之框架的問題;(2)無相計劃︰侯忠穎與數學家黃彥彰、CACV Lab計算分析與認知視覺實驗室團隊與ROSO Coop機器人實驗室相互合作,探索繪畫之生產過程中,藝術之主體的位置,以及人與AI間互為生成的關係;(3)特效藥︰思考擬像(是否可以改成擬真圖像)、訊息與繪畫的關聯。從這三個主題出發,更細膩地延伸到許多相關的藝術問題,包含繪畫形式、類比與數位、工藝與藝術、框架、體制、信仰,幻象與真實等等問題。

    然而,上述之種種藝術問題,一方面與藝術家侯忠穎隱含於個人生命經驗與潛藏於寫實之表面下的創作意識有關;但另一方面,卻與現當代藝術認識模式之轉換有關,涉及當代藝術哲學的思考。職是之故,致使我們必須繞道遠行於美學的曲道,迂迴地靠近,方能揭示侯忠穎「摹仿說」之全貌,以及在當代藝術中,由手所啟動的,技術、媒體、藝術與人對自我的摹仿問題。

   

  As a keen, active and talented artist, Hou, Chung Ying has long crossed the boundary of realism. As a form of expression and aesthetic dialectics in the history of art, "realism" has long been a question that he constantly questioned himself when he started creating. In other words, whether or not to be realistic is no longer the artistic issue that he is most concerned about, and it is probably not the core issue of modern and contemporary art for a long time. Therefore, in the exhibition "Mimesis", artist Hou takes the hand as an initial point and metaphor, and on the theme of the possible relationship between man and the world, he wants to outline a larger possibility that extends to the transformation of interdisciplinary thinking and artistic cognition.

  Specifically, "Mimesis" is carried out through the following three themes: (1) Frame Painting : From the contemporary relationship between craftsmanship and art, it explores the question of the frame of society, art and vision; (2) Simulacra Buddha Project: Hou cooperates with Prof. Huang, CACV Lab and ROSO COOP to explore the production process of painting, the position of the subject of art, and the inter-generational relationship between humans and AI; (3) Medicine of Vision: thinking about the association of simulacra, messages and painting. Beginning from these three themes, it is more delicately extended to many related artistic issues, including painting form, analog and digital, craftsmanship and art, frame, system, belief, illusion and reality, etc.

   

  However, the above-mentioned various artistic problems are related to the artist Hou’s hidden personal life experience and the creative consciousness hidden under the surface of reality; philosophical thinking, hence we must detour far to the aesthetics and approach in a roundabout way, in order to reveals the whole picture of Hou's "Mimesis" and the problems of technology, media, art and people's self-imitation initiated by hand in contemporary art.
